I think it'll be slightly more horrific than this patched together site...
it's going to have a photoblog, instead of the horrific slide of pics down the side... and it'll just work on different browsers and resolutions muhc better...
what's sad is that i think i'm getting tendonitis as well... no jokes here either. do wrist guards actually work>? i feel like it's more better ergnomics and posture, better desks, keyboards, etc... i've got a swanky keyboard at work... all split and stuff, would be hell for FPS though...
oh, welcome to vancouver!!

Wow, thanks for putting this all down on... well, not paper... but you know... When I think about the trip it all gets a bit jumbled up, so this is great to read.

And, thanks for the welcome, Mark! Oddly enough, it does feel appropriate even though it's a year later...

yeah, i was a bit worried it was a bit to photo heavy, but i don't think it couldn've really been done any other way..
i think that's why i have been thinking about journeys a lot lately... just because they are so reflective, and i just don't really have that much in my life these days...

i must commend u on a wonderful telling of a magical tale. i really did enjoy the photo + words combination, like a children's picture book. i especially liked how you summed up your thoughts at the end. i always find the end of trips like this to be extremely reflective. you're confronted with the past as you face the present, and the future. to try to absorb things into your consciousness and let go of other things to lighten the heart. even though it took u a little while to finish it, i'm really happy u told ur story of the trip u two had. i know it's extremely belated, but seemingly appropriate now that the story is over ... WELCOME TO THE WEST COAST, KATIE!!!

Cute prairie dog! We did see some neat wildlife, that's for sure. And despite my agorophobia about the badlands, I'd really like to go back some time. It was very beautiful and so quiet! Lovely.

don't worry katie. i think jo is the perfect guy for you, and you him. while people get you mixed up for a guy, they get jo mixed up for a girl. so it works out all the same in the end.

keep up the good bloggin work bud. i'm still waiting for this "oregon trail" saga to end. hopefully it ends without expansionist settlers being carried away by rivers or dying from plagues. that game was seriously emotionally scarring for us young children, i swear.

Wow, did we really do all of that on day 4? Seems like such a packed day... I guess it was rather a whirlwind trip all around though. I'm sorry we didn't get to stop for the mighty Mississippi (and some mud pie). Maybe someday we'll do the whole thing in reverse and see all the stuff we missed, haha.

Aww, cute Ellyrat. Also, the more pictures I see of myself with that haircut, the more I understand why so many people mistook me for a boy. Oh well, live and learn.

wow, when you look back at your year like that, it looks like you did a lot. im not saying that you didn't (quite the contrary), but rather, as you're moving on through the year, it's easy to forget sometimes just how far you've come until you look behind you.

keep on truckin' brutha. who knows, maybe you'll even be gimp free by the end of next year. horah!

yeah, not too much to get... we're just both kinda weird.. haha! Anyways, thanks, dude! Yeah, it is pretty cool that things paid off in the end, and worked out... at least for this month. I'm going to try to see how I can play around with the way I do things at work... self-improvement, ya know? But yeah, those are great points, about 'street cred'. I'm not directly involved in the sales process, but i do play a role, in making things easier to everyone...
But yeah, i'll be awaiting hugs on the 18th.. Party at your house that week? I heard your parents were away in Vegas! hahaha

oh, in the midst of confusion, i forgot to say ...

CONGRATULATIONS MAN!!!!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!! FRAK YEAH!!!!

seriously. that's awesome. really really really (that's frakkin 3 really's right there) happy to hear that some hardwork and determination paid off for yah (isn't that what i've been always saying?). yes, the credit is all mine.

no seriously. i'm really proud of you buddy. it's been a long time coming, but yunno what's good about this job? street cred. when a company hires u because u can help them make money, it shows a lot about u and what u can bring to the table to future employers (even if they're not out for the profit). and that's what u've been wanting for some time.

so seriously. i'd hug u right now, but that would take me 8 hours. so u'll just have to wait until the 18th.

Yo Joming,

Don't feel bad about not gaving a job. Hang in there and good things will happen. I could talk to you sometime and I'll tell you what I think helps.

The job I want isn't even in the career I want but the career I want requires that I have money in the first place to spend on it.

I went camping in the Olympics once, its pretty cool there. I found it to be a lot different than BC but still very cool. I liked ruby beach.

Anyways hang in their Joming you'll find something.

Yeah that's horrible.

The pine forests in canada will soon all be gone too because of the pine beetle. The last job I did in Logan lake made me realise just how bad it is. Etire hill sides all brown, it was crazy, I had no idea how bad it was. The pine beetle devastation definately wasn't an understatement and I'm sure this isn't either.

Say goodbye to trees I guess...sigh

I totally agree with your point about stasis and movement. There is something to moving your body across landscapes, across time or across collision zones that does something to your general perspective, on life and on yourself. I'm really admiring your blog these days, Jo, and you have great things to say.

The question of dealing with experiences is such a challenge. The compulsion to keep doing, to keep on keeping on, or keep being "productive" often blurs the line between experience and filling time, and sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. These days I've found it hard to come to grips with "spare" time that isn't really spare but more of a weight on what I think I should be motivating myself to do... but it's hard to find that without external movement of some kind.

Hang in there, friend, and do enjoy your trip with Katie. It's going to be one crazy thing for both of you, but crazy in that good way that puts you to sleep at night. Can't wait to hear all about it. Much love in the meantime.
